About…
Savannah Rose Doughty (she/her) is a recent graduate of the University of South Carolina Honors College, where she studied Data Science and Sport & Entertainment Management. Her foundation in statistics, research, and analytical thinking informs her nuanced approach to theatre direction and making, one where she prioritizes attention to detail, purpose in movement, and the ability to grow. She strives to cultivate a rehearsal space built on camaraderie and collaboration, a space in which people can connect and make memories. Some of the greatest days of her life were spent in rehearsal rooms, and her goal is to continue chasing that feeling, and to foster a space in which others feel the same, for the rest of her life.
She was once sent a newspaper article calling Stephen Sondheim a “critical darling,” and has been chasing that title for herself ever since. With a rising passion for “the finer things in life,” she has found herself in the industry of theatre, opera, and wine (T.O.W.). The daughter of a schoolteacher and a cook, she is the first person in her family to pursue a life in T.O.W., she strives to make theatre and wine accessible to everyone. She believes everyone deserves to appreciate the joys a good show, or a good glass of wine, can bring!
Her favorite theatre is community theatre - especially the weird, avant-garde, Capital C concepts. Her favorite wine is a bold Merlot or a Meritage, and a strong proclivity for Stella Rosa Black.
She has backgrounds in theatre direction, production management, arts administration, lighting design, set design, choreography, social media, bartending, food running, and spreading the gospel of supporting low-budget theatre.
